Developer recruitment site DeveloperAuction has raised $2.7 million in what is described as its first institutional funding round. The funding was led NEA and Sierra Ventures, with participation from Google Ventures, Crosslink Capital, Jeff Clavier’s SoftTech VC, and John Suliman. The site utilizes an interesting competitive bidding process to connect top developers with employers…and everyone in the technology business knows that developers are the hottest of a hot commodities. YouNow, a social video startup founded in 2011, has acquired live-streaming video service BlogTV, which was founded in 2006 and has apparently amassed quite a large user base. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Read more about the deal via TechCrunch.
