When a visitor presses the button, you’ll see, hear, and speak to the person at your door from your iOS and Android mobile devices. Now you can know who is at your door whether you’re at home, at work or on the go.

Product/Service Description

iDoorCam is a Wi-Fi-enabled doorbell that lets you see, hear and speak to the person at your door from your Android and iOS mobile devices. The device replaces your current doorbell and has a camera, speaker, microphone, motion sensor and LED lights. Now you can know who is at your door whether you’re at home, at work or on the go.

Founders’ Story

The idea for iDoorCam came about when I wanted to stay connected to my home. As a busy executive, I was either at the office or traveling. I wanted a better way to know who was at my door and to interact with them while I was away. After considering the idea, I realized that it would also be convenient when I was home too. I enjoyed the idea of not having to stop what I was doing to answer the door, and the idea of being able to see who was there when I was home alone.

From that point it was clear that a connected device like iDoorCam would help give control back to the homeowner. Along with Andrew Thomas, my co-founder, iDoorCam evolved into what it is now a cutting-edge Wi-Fi doorbell that brings convenience, control, and cutting-edge technology to your fingertips.

Marketing/Promotion Strategy

We view iDoorCam as the very latest smart gadget in a connected home, and a central part of the digital lifestyle. Many different types of people have responded favorably to the convenience and control it provides. It’s also global. Early adopters have pre-ordered from over 48 countries. Users are responding to iDoorCam as a cutting-edge device that is easy to use and makes everyday life just a little easier.

Market Opportunity

The appetite for smart, connected devices for the home is accelerating. The home automation market will grow as useful devices enter the marketplace and mobile devices continue to evolve into remote controls for our everyday lives. The growth of both the number of devices and their integration will increase the demand for a connected ecosystem and the devices that make up that ecosystem. iDoorCam will play a big role in this evolution, and we are starting with the front door.

While the market for home automation devices is growing, there is one competitor in our space. We view this as a great opportunity to develop a truly smart Wi-Fi doorbell that is both cutting-edge and easy to use.

How We Differentiate From the Competition

iDoorCam is positioned well in the Wi-Fi doorbell device segment. The key differences are in product design and feature set.

iDoorCam was designed to match the specific usage case of a Wi-Fi doorbell. The device itself is made of hardened plastics with a UV coating that will not interfere with Wi-Fi signal. iDoorCam resembles a traditional doorbell and will draw less attention.

iDoorCam also has powerful features that make it a truly smart device. Our motion sensor allows us to initiate calls, data and alerts based on motion detection. Other features include auto-scaling for the feed based on connection quality, self-diagnostics and doorbell sound control.

In addition to the design and feature set, iDoorCam will retail at $164.95 and is designed, developed and manufactured in the USA.

Business Model

iDoorCam will be launched as a device-driven business. It will be sold as a one-time cost. There are no monthly fees. We intend to market and sell iDoorCam devices through www.idoorcam.com and other online and offline retail channels.

Current Needs

iDoorCam is amidst a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo. We successfully reached our target of $100,000 in five days and are excited to continue gaining support from early adopters.
