WASHINGTON, D.C. – AdvaMed 2015: The MedTech Conference, the leading gathering of medical technology professionals in North America, has issued a call for transformative companies to apply for the MedTech Innovator competition by the May 15 deadline.

The MedTech Innovator competition, held in partnership between RCT Ventures and the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed), identifies and rewards outstanding early-stage medical device companies. The winners of MedTech Innovator 2015 will be selected at AdvaMed 2015, October 5-7 in San Diego by a vote of the audience and will compete for cash prizes sponsored by RCT Ventures and other industry partners.

“MedTech Innovator shines a spotlight on the importance of transformative technologies as the health care system continually evolves,” said Paul Grand, managing director, RCT Ventures. “The winning companies at AdvaMed 2015 will be the life-changing technologies of tomorrow, and we look forward to awarding the funding and the industry mentoring that can help bring them to the next level.”

Companies are encouraged to submit technologies for the competition that address one or more of the following 10 key areas for medical technology innovation:

• Big Data & Analytics
• Chronic Disease Management
• Digital Health Meets Medical Device
• Integrated Services and Solutions
• Patient Safety
• Patient Satisfaction
