Turin, May 2015 – The innovative multimedia platform for language exchange, Naboomboo, received a investment of fifty-thousand Euro from Club Italia Investimenti 2. This venture capital company invests in start-ups that are part of one of the accelerators that they have an agreement with. The funds made available by Club Italia Investimenti 2 are meant to complete the product’s prototype or set up the services, as well as to acquire first customers.

For Naboomboo the funding comes approximately one year after the Beta launch of the platform and is bound to give Naboomboo the boost needed to expand and improve. The first step towards to expansion and improvement of the platform is realized during the week that includes the World Day of Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development. In this week the new landing page, improvements in the audio- and video system and an upgraded messaging system are launched in order to give users an even more convenient and satisfactory experience.

With promotional activities the team will attract new users. A particular focus will, thereby, be on the growth of native English speaking users, because this is the most requested language by learners both on Naboomboo and in the world and is one of the most widely used world languages.

About Naboomboo

Naboomboo is an innovative multimedia platform for language exchange which launched their Beta on the 21 May 2014. The company is part of Treatabit, the I3P (Innovative Enterprise Incubator of the Polytechnic University of Turin) program for digital startups. The purpose of Naboomboo is to help people practice and become more fluent in a foreign language without studying and conversing about dull topics, and it can be completely free for its users.

The difference with other platforms is that Naboomboo is based on board games rules and logic in order to promote interactivity and the creation of a community. At Naboomboo people that want to learn a new language are simultaneously the tutors of their own native language; by teaching free minutes can be earned to learn a foreign language.

The company is led by five people, supported by an intern. Antonio Matteo De Marco and Matteo Padovano are in charge of the technological choices, web development and user experience. Carlo Emanuele Lanzavecchia is in charge of the customer retention and mechanism of credits and incentives. The CEO of the company is Daniele Pozzo–he concerns himself with the coordination of the internal actors, and is in charge of the external relations. The marketing efforts of the service are trusted to Riccardo Rebora. The intern, Willem Bot, is a support for activities surrounding marketing and competitive analysis.
