October 12, 2015 (Austin, TX) – This past week, Trove Market (www.usetrove.com), a widely popular, location-based mobile app and website for buying and selling pre-owned and vintage furnishings, rallied nine of Austin’s top interior designers and over 60 eBay volunteers, to give Central Texas Table of Grace (CTTG) – a Texas group home for children ages 6-17 – a makeover that truly warms the heart.

The project was spearheaded by Trove’s Editorial Director, Kelly LaPlante, and completed beautifully in just one day – something the design team and volunteers proved isn’t just reserved for reality TV!

Trove and its design partners aimed to transform CTTG into a place the children would be excited to call home. By complimenting recently donated beds and sofas with art, rugs, lighting, wallpaper, custom paint, plants, throw pillows and occasional furniture, the design team gave CTTG an update better than anyone could’ve imagined!

CTTG Founder Stacy Johnson – who was in the foster system from age 2 until 13 – was grateful beyond words, and confident that the updates will provide a more welcoming, warmer environment for current and future residents. In Stacy’s words, “It will help them get to a place of healing…to give them a place where they feel comfortable and where they can start to heal.”

The inventory for the project was sourced through Trove Market’s mobile app and website, and from local shops such as Nannie Inez, TreeHouse, Four Hands, Rooms To Go, UrbanSpace, Photos.com, FLOR and Lights Fantastic. Creating a homier space for the children of CTTG gave them and the CTTG staff a comfortable, proud space to call home.

Participating designers included:
• Emily Basham-Hoelscher of High Contrast Design House
• Elizabeth Mollen of Stone Textile Studio
• Sarah Stacey of Sarah Stacey Interior Design
• Robin Colton of Robin Colton Interior Design
• Erin Williamson of Erin Williamson Design
• Chelsea Bandy Kloss of Chelsea + Remy
• Kelly LaPlante of Trove Market

The designers were joined by Josh McAdams, a therapist who specializes in transgender issues and is in the process of adopting a foster child with his husband, and Amy Hadley, former news anchor and host of “House Proud” on Time Warner Cable News.

This project was made possible by a wonderful team of volunteers from eBay, thanks to CTTG Board Member, eBay Manager, and friend Dan Hendrickson, who brought the teams together. The volunteers from eBay donated their time to building furniture, painting walls, hanging doors, and assembling custom art installations like living Lego™ and Twister™ walls!
