PRODUCT/SERVICE DESCRIPTION

YouGather is an online platform that joins individuals through over 40,000 online communities based on shared passions.

Users are invited to sign up through their Facebook or Google accounts; they can select categories of interest such as Arts, Computers, Health, Home & Garden, Recreation, Science, Society, Sports, and then pick the communities they are interested in.

YouGather has a whole range of engaging sub-communities–sharing information, live chatting, and creating real connections.

DIFFERENTIATORS VS. THE COMPETITION

Social networks today are experiencing a phenomenon of voyeurism. More and more executives are searching for ways to interact. There are 1.5 billion active users on Facebook–however, connections are made over the friends you already share, and the content does little to incite action.

YouGather seeks to take advantage of the increasing popularity of social networks to help create new connections through shared passions. Make new friends through joining a community on ‘genealogy,’ discover new recipes and insider tips. YouGather is taking social networking to a new level, for deeper connections and stronger relationships.

FOUNDERS’ STORY

Jeremey Charbonnet started his first software development and consulting company at the age of 14 and has graced the world with many big ideas and problem-solving products, and is now taking on Goliath with his newest creation.

After spending eight years working independently with his company, Creative Solutions, he joined Complete Medical Solutions in the year 2000. During this time, he led many large software development projects in both the corporate and government sectors.

His latest project, YouGather, was created to solve the problem of people having to search through the fragmented Internet to find and bring their interests all into one place. YouGather promotes a sense of community by gathering users around their interests with rich content, products and conversations that will help facilitate relationships like never before on the Internet.

Charbonnet is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with a bachelor’s degree in Management and Information Systems, and resides with his wife and three children in Slidell, Louisiana.
