ClearMesh Networks Receives Award

1/12/07 - Pasadena-based ClearMesh Networks announced this week that Internet Telephony magazine has named the ClearMesh Metro Grid™ the recipient of its 2006 Product of the Year Award.  According to ClearMesh, the wireless optical mesh architecture of the Metro Grid enables large corporate, medical, education or government campus environments to integrate data, VoIP and surveillance video and other applications demanding large amounts of LAN capacity at every point on a campus.

Offering up to 100Mbps of full duplex Ethernet capacity to each building, the Metro Grid is a wireless mesh that offers fiber-like capacity and performance without the high cost and complications of deploying fiber.  The network uses unlicensed, interference-free technology that ensures ultra-low latency operation able to carry thousands of toll-grade VoIP calls, delay and jitter sensitive video traffic and mission-critical applications.  Unlike traditional Wi-Fi networks, the Metro Grid can support large scale IT network overlays while aggregating video traffic from hundreds of surveillance cameras.

“The ClearMesh Metro Grid clearly fills a gap in today’s wireless network deployments.  While Wi-Fi allows for ubiquitous access, it fails to deliver the bandwidth and quality of service necessary to support both mission critical and media-rich applications,” said Suresh Nihalani, president and CEO of ClearMesh.  “We’re glad to see that Internet Telephony clearly understands the timeliness and unique value proposition of the Metro Grid.”

“Internet Telephony is proud to bestow ClearMesh with the 2006 Product of the Year Award.  Each year Internet Telephony magazine recognizes companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and editor-in-chief of Internet Telephony magazine.
