LiveDigital Introduces User-Driven Advertising Platform
2/13/07 – Los Angeles-based LiveDigital, the video programming and channel site, today announced the launch of a platform that enables Internet video users to select which advertisements will appear on their user generated channels, as well as specifically where advertisements will be displayed.
LiveDigital, an Oversee.net company, says that channels that show more advertisements and ultimately become more popular will be eligible to earn a share of $25,000 during LiveDigital's February Sweeps. This announcement comes on the heels of the company’s launch of its user-generated channel and video programming platform.
“This is the first application on the web that enables content creators and channel programmers to control the advertising that is shown as part of their own personal brand. LiveDigital channel programmers can select advertising which reinforces the emotional appeal of their channel,” said Sumant Sridharan, director of new media for LiveDigital. “We are moving one step closer to bringing user-generated television programming to the masses. Users can now control the content, brand, subscriptions and advertising on their LiveDigital broadcast channel. No other video sharing site today brings all of these elements together.”
In addition, LiveDigital says that it has launched a $25,000 February Sweeps contest, in which users compete by creating their own channels and earning points by placing advertisements and driving traffic to their channels.
The company says that the top 25 LiveDigital channels are guaranteed to receive a minimum of $200, with the remaining money split among those channels according to their respective ratings.
