Fonality and Matrix Business Technologies Partner for Small Business Phone and Data Solution
4/26/07 – Culver City-based Fonality, the open source telephony company, today announced that Matrix Business Technologies, a U.S.-based telecom services provider, is the first in its industry to adopt the Fonality Managed Services Partner (MSP) model by selecting Fonality’s PBXtra solution. The companies say this Matrix-managed PBX phone system is the first of its kind to complement the existing portfolio of voice and data services currently enjoyed by Matrix’s small to medium size business (SMB) customers.
Matrix Business Technologies provides a wide range of voice and data services specifically targeted to enterprises with 10-to-100 employees, and currently has more than 35,000 business customers, according to the firm. Fonality’s PBXtra business phone system gives MSPs a managed voice offering to work with their existing network services. Together, Fonality and Matrix say they are offering an out-of-the box voice solution and providing customers with a single source for a T1 line and phone system, with no up-front costs.
The companies say the combined phone and data system will provide a complete communication system, including a 24x7 network center and account management services.
The Matrix managed PBX system, powered by Fonality, will be available for limited distribution in June 2007, with general availability in early Q3, according to the companies.
