Language Weaver Partners with Text Analytics Firm
4/26/07 – Los Angeles-based Language Weaver, a developer of software for the automatic translation of human languages, today announced it has entered into a strategic marketing and technology partnership with Janya, a provider of information extraction and text analytics technologies. The companies say they will develop a joint solution that integrates Language Weaver’s automatic translation capabilities and Janya’s Semantex text analytics platform.
The solution will be offered by each company independently to aid their clients in extracting multilingual information and defining relationships among people, places and events drawn from unstructured and semi-structured text, according to Language Weaver and Janya.
Demonstrations of the integrated solution will be presented by both companies at the Defense Intelligence Agency CIO-sponsored DoDIIS Worldwide Conference next week in Chicago.
Language Weaver was founded in 2002 to commercialize a unique approach to automatic language translation using proprietary statistical translation algorithms that resulted from research and development at the University of Southern California’s Information Sciences Institute. The company has recently announced partnerships with Idiom Technologies and across Systems, and launched a consumer-focused subsidiary called Kontrib.
