Amp’d Mobile Raises Handset Prices

5/17/07 – RCR Wireless News reports that Los Angeles-based mobile phone service and entertainment provider Amp’d Mobile has raised prices for its handsets across the board.  According to the article, the price hike ranges from $100 to $10, depending on the phone model.

Amp’d offers enhanced mobile phone service on a 3G network that includes original content and entertainment features.  Its handsets are specially equipped for Amp’d’s unique content services.  The company operates in the tough mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) space, along with Helio, another Los Angeles-based firm, among others.

Over the first five months of the year, Amp’d has announced several big content partnerships and  expanded to international markets.
