ClearMesh Networks Closes Doors

5/31/07 – Unstrung and SoCalTech are reporting that IdeaLab startup ClearMesh Networks has closed its doors.  Citing multiple sources, Unstrung says the company officially shut down last Friday after IdeaLab stopped funding the Pasadena-based wireless optical broadband mesh company.  It was apparently unable to attract other investors.

ClearMesh offered Ethernet connectivity that enabled large corporate, medical, education or government campus environments to integrate data, voice-over-IP, and surveillance video and other applications that demand large amounts of network capacity.

In March, the company released what it called “its next-generation wireless mesh solution”—the ClearMesh Sentry Mesh.  A company spokesperson told StartUp Beat at the time that it had 3 customers and was running ten trials of its technology.

Unstrung says that the company is now trying to sell its technology, according to an unnamed source.
