Demand Media and eNom to Release .TV Domain Names

5/1/07 – Santa Monica-based Demand Media, the web media company, and its wholly owned subsidiary and wholesale registrar, eNom, have announced that premium “.TV” domain names will be made available today.

The company says it is bringing the .TV names to market in conjunction with the release of proprietary tools to create video-centric web sites with social networking.  Demand says the tools will come with every .TV registration, free of charge.  Nearly 53,000 names that have been off the market for close to five months will be available at www.domainsindemand.tv.

In December, Demand announced a strategic alliance with VeriSign to leverage Demand’s new media platform to increase .TV registrations.  The company was co-founded by former Intermix Media/MySpace.com CEO Richard Rosenblatt and runs a number of web content properties including eNom, Answerbag.com and eHow.
