Simula Labs Becomes DevZuz

5/1/07 – Marina Del Rey-based Simula Labs has changed its name to DevZuz.  The company says the new name reflects a refined focus on enabling enterprises to take advantage of open source technologies throughout the application development life cycle.

The company says the DevZuz name is part of its evolution from an open source venture partner with more than 55 customers to a stand-alone vendor offering the delivery platform to connect businesses directly to open source projects and developers.

DevZuz says it gives enterprise IT organizations, which require access to open source components for faster time-to-market delivery capabilities, professional-grade backing of a subscription support infrastructure and enforceable service level agreements for all DevZuz-hosted open source artifacts.

To complete its transition from a venture partner, DevZuz has sold its interest, including technology, intellectual property and customers, in LogicBlaze, Inc. to IONA Technologies.

The company recently completed its consolidated Series A financing of $9.25 million with backing from Mission Ventures and Redpoint Ventures.
