WiSpry Names New CEO
5/15/07 – Irvine-based WiSpry, the fabless semiconductor company that develops low-cost, high-performance radio frequency micro-electro-mechanical systems for the wireless industry, today announced that Russell Garcia has been named president and CEO. Jeffrey Hilbert, the company’s co-founder, former president and CEO, will remain on the company’s board and with WiSpry as executive vice president of development.
Garcia has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, previously serving as vice president of marketing for Silicon Systems/Texas Instruments Storage Products. He also led and executed the integration of product, customer and organizational strategies for Texas Instruments Storage Products Group.
Most recently, Garcia served as president and CEO of u-Nav Microelectronics, a venture backed fabless GPS semiconductor company. In this role, he developed a new entity from a Finland research and development operation to a global semiconductor company. Previous roles include technical and management positions at Plessey Semiconductors and Hughes Aircraft Company.
