Axiom Microdevices Ships One Millionth Power Amplifier

6/26/07 – Axiom Microdevices, the Irvine-based developer of fully-integrated complementary metal oxide semiconductor, or CMOS, power amplifiers for cell phones, announced today that it has shipped its one millionth unit.

The company’s AX502 power amplifier integrates full quad-band GSM and GPRS power amplifier functionality on a single integrated circuit, using mainstream silicon CMOS process technology, according to Axiom.  What this translates into is the potential for cost reduction and improved functionality for mobile devices.

The company says handsets containing the Axiom solution are currently shipping in both Europe and Asia.
