Boingo Offers Flat Rate Wi-Fi Service
6/25/07 – Boingo Wireless, the network aggregator and operator of wi-fi networks, today launched a new service that gives international business travelers access to more than 100,000 Boingo hot spot locations around the world for one monthly fee with no roaming charges and no per-minute fees.
Called Boingo Global, the Santa Monica-based company is offering the service at $39 per month. The company claims it is the world’s lowest-priced global roaming plan
At this point, customers can sign up for Boingo Global either at Boingo’s web site or at more than 50 hot spots in France and Norway. The company says that customers will be able to sign up for the service at more European locations including hot spots in Germany, Italy and the UK, later this year.
The service is enabled by a partnership with France’s Hub Télécom and Norway’s Oslo Lufthavn Tele & Data AS, or OLTD.
Just last month, Boingo signed a deal to more than double its worldwide roaming network.
