fix8 and Stickam Partner to Bring User-Generated Reality to Live Video Community

6/27/07 – Sherman Oaks-based fix8, which provides interactive media tools for user-generated content, and Los Angeles-based Stickam, which has built a community around a video player that allows live communication, today announced they are partnering up to bring fix8’s interactive avatar creator to Stickam’s service.

Stickam says it counts more than 550,000 members, so the deal is a potential boon for fix8 in particular.  The companies say the fix8 technology will enable users to animate live video with special effects that include virtual costumes, props and avatars.

The partnership also includes cross-marketing of the services.  In addition, fix8 says it will create unique avatars, accessories and images for the Stickam community as a premium software offering.

fix8 is owned by Mobinex, which focuses on virtual reality products and services.  The company was founded in 2004.
