Local Companies Seek to Promote Products and Services Through Events
6/11/07 – Two local companies today announced details of upcoming events built around promoting their core businesses. Los Angeles-based DomainSponsor, an Oversee.net company, released the particulars of its next Domain Fest Global conference, while Westlake Village-based Xirrus announced that it would be conducting seminars in 20 cities throughout the summer and fall to promote its wi-fi products to IT pros.
The Domain Fest show has been a successful endeavor for DomainSponsor, which offers services that enable domain owners to make money on traffic generated to their domains via direct navigation. The announcement comes on the heels of Domain Fest Amsterdam, where the company held what it claimed was the first live domain auction of its kind at a conference. Previous to the Amsterdam show, the U.S. version of Domain Fest featured high-profile speakers like Michael Arrington, editor and founder of TechCrunch and Mike “Zappy” Zapolin, co-founder of the Internet Real Estate Group. The next iteration of the show will take place in January at the Renaissance Hotel in Hollywood.
Xirrus, which has had a busy year in terms of new deployments of its Wi-Fi Array product, announced that its seminars would provide hands-on exercises on service provisioning, radio configuration and network optimization for IT people in cites across the country—including Baltimore, Salt Lake City, Chicago, Atlanta, Honolulu, and locally in Irvine and Burbank. The company says experts will discuss wi-fi network design and configuration challenges, along with the benefits of new standards that are on the horizon.
