Pasadena to Host Green Energy Industry Symposium
6/12/07 – Pasadena is set to host GreenTech 2007 this Thursday, a day-long showcase of innovations in green and sustainable energy from Caltech, UCLA and USC. Organizers say the conference will also include a panel of venture capitalists who will discuss the green energy market and areas for potential investment, along with individual company presentations.
Long a hub for technology innovation and entrepreneurship due in large part to its proximity to Caltech and JPL, Pasadena was recently named one of the top “Cleantech” locales in the U.S., according to Sustainlane, and serves as the headquarters of prominent green energy companies like Soliant Energy and Energy Innovations.
GreenTech sponsors include Entretech, Materia, Idealab, and the cities of Pasadena and Monrovia. Keynote speakers will include Nathan Lewis, professor of chemistry at Caltech, and Bill Gross, CEO of Energy Innovations and founder of Idealab.
The agenda also includes time for presentations from companies in the storage, production and renewable energy businesses.
