Sonos Names Former Sony Executive President and COO
6/18/07 – Santa Barbara-based Sonos today announced the appointment of former Sony senior executive Phil Abram as president and COO. The developer of wireless multi-room music systems says that in the newly created position, Abram will oversee the rapidly growing digital music system business.
Abram spent more than eleven years in a variety of strategic management roles at Sony, most recently serving as vice president and senior general manager in the television products division. Before joining Sony, Abram held executive positions at Sharp Electronics Corporation and Eastman Kodak Company.
Sonos has developed the first comprehensive wireless, multi-room digital music system that lets customers play digital music all over the house and manipulate it from one controller. The service provides access to online music services, Internet radio and digital music collections.
Sonos recently partnered with Internet radio company Pandora and debuted a new home entertainment bundle.
