Spot Runner Touts Recent Honors for TV Ad Platform

6/26/07 – Los Angeles-based Spot Runner, the Internet-based TV ad agency, has won several industry awards, including an American Business Award for “Most Innovative Company,” and seven Telly Awards, which focus on local, regional and cable television commercials.

The 2007 American Business Awards, otherwise known as “The Stevies,” honored Spot Runner with its “Most Innovative Company” award for companies with up to 2,500 employees.

The Telly Awards were given for ads in the not-for-profit, retail store, sporting goods and low budget categories.  The Telly Awards have been around since 1978 and honor local, regional and cable television commercials and programs as well as video and film productions.

Spot Runner was the first company to offer a marketplace for the purchase of television ad time online.  The company also offers tools for commercial production and media planning.  It provides hyper-localized and targeted media plans, so advertisers can effectively reach prospective clients by demographics, networks and even specific neighborhoods.

The company was founded in 2004 and is backed by investors that include Battery Ventures, Index Ventures, Allen & Company and Tudor Investments.
