Fonality Garners Innovation Award
7/5/07 – Culver City-based Fonality, the open-source telephony company, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation, or TMC, has named the company’s trixbox Appliance as a 2007 TMC Labs Innovation Award winner. The appliance made its debut in March, and Fonality says it created the product for trixbox and Asterisk resellers, as well as IT professionals.
The product is an enterprise-class telephony appliance based on trixbox, the open source Asterisk-based telephony platform. The appliance requires minimal set-up, according to Fonality, and provides resellers with a quick and easy hardware solution to build phone systems.
TMC says its Innovation Awards honor products that demonstrate “raw innovation, unique features and significant contributions toward improving communications technology.” The winners can be found in the July and August 2007 issues of Internet Telephony magazine.
Earlier this year, Fonality announced that it had reached the 2,000 customer mark for its standard PBXtra phone system. The company’s investors include Azure Capital and Intel Capital.
