FremantleMedia, Mobliss Bring Content Channel to Helio

7/3/07 – U.K.-based FremantleMedia and Seattle-based mobile entertainment developer Mobliss have announced that their comedy channel, “Atomic Wedgie,” will launch on Helio, the Westwood-based mobile virtual network operator, this month.

The companies say Atomic Wedgie offers hours of original and repurposed short-form comedy programming with a menu of 12 different programs to choose from, including more than 150 mobile shorts.  The channel’s launch on Helio will feature 50 new shorts for some of its most popular shows, according to Freemantle and Mobliss.

Helio, which has focused in large part on new devices like the company’s Ocean dual slider smartphone, as well as integrated services like MySpace mobile and GPS location services, also offers entertainment through additional partnerships with ABC Mobile, FOX Sports, StupidVideos.com and Warner Music Group.

Yesterday, EarthLink and SK Telecom announced a funding infusion of $200 million into Helio.
