MyMedicalRecords.com Offers Free Advanced Drug Information Tool
7/13/07 – Los Angeles-based MyMedicalRecords.com, which provides web-based personal health records services, announced this week that it has integrated the Cerner Multum Drug Content Database into its web site, giving its subscribers access to detailed information on over 20,000 prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
The company says it is also making an abridged version available to non-subsribers who visit MyMedicalRecords.com.
The database links to a prescription list in each user’s account, and users can click on any entry to get comprehensive information on that drug, or obtain a complete list of interactions, according to the company. The system automatically checks for interactions with all drugs entered in their prescription list and reports on potential threats between multiple medications.
The site already includes features like calendar reminders for prescription refills, doctor appointments and medications that are integrated with Microsoft Outlook, a family medical history database and a special emergency log-in portal that allows medical personnel to access vital information about a subscriber, such as blood type, allergies and medical history.
The company says that at the core of the service is a document management and communications platform that allows doctors to fax medical and personal health records such as lab test results and immunization reports into a user’s account, through a secure process. Images such as x-rays, scans and MRIs can be uploaded directly from the computer desktop, allowing users to efficiently and confidentially manage their health records in a personalized filing cabinet, according to the firm.
