Fonality Releases Updated Telephony Software

8/8/07 – Culver City-based Fonality, the open-source telephony company, today announced the beta release of trixbox 2.4, an updated version of the trixbox Asterisk-based open source telephony platform.  Fonality says trixbox 2.4 provides broader compatibility, choice and usability than previous versions.

The new release reduces install time and includes enhanced usability with new features like an updated flash operator panel and an improved “FreePBX” landing page with more status information, says the company.

Fonality recently released a trixbox appliance, which is an enterprise-class telephony system for small-to-medium sized businesses based on trixbox.  The company says the appliance requires minimal set-up and provides a quick and easy hardware solution for building phone systems.

The company is backed by investors Azure Capital and Intel Capital
