Fonality Wins PC Magazine Editors’ Choice Award
8/9/07 – Culver City-based Fonality, the open-source IP telephony company, has been awarded the PC Magazine Editors’ Choice award for its PBXtra IP-PBX phone system. Fonality’s solution was given the highest rating in a roundup of leading open-and closed-source phone systems at similar price points.
PBXtra is a VoIP-based phone system designed to be purchased, installed and managed by non-technical professionals, Fonality says. More than 2,000 companies with 45,000 phones in 37 countries have used the system, placing more than 75 million calls, according to the company.
Fonality, which targets the small-to-medium sized business market, just yesterday debuted the latest version of its trixbox software—a product focused on resellers who want a telephony offering and on small business owners who want to build their own system.
The company counts Azure Capital and Intel Capital among its investors.
