News Corp and NBC Universal Video Site Named Hulu
8/30/07 – News Corp. and NBC Universal announced yesterday that they have named their new online video joint venture “Hulu.” The venture is based both in Los Angeles and New York.
The collaboration was announced in March, and is being pushed by the media giants as a You Tube rival. The companies say the site will be available for testing by a limited number of users in a private beta set to begin in October.
In July, Hulu named former Amazon.com executive Jason Kilar as its CEO.
