Sonos Teams Up with Sirius
8/15/07 – Sonos, the Santa Barbara-based developer of wireless multi-room music systems, and Sirius Satellite Radio today announced that the new release of the Sonos System Software will include streaming from Sirius on the Sonos Digital Music System. The offering will allow Sirius subscribers to wirelessly stream satellite radio all over the house.
The partnership between the companies also includes a free Sirius 30-day trial for Sonos customers who don't already subscribe.
The Sonos system connects directly to Sirius Internet Radio, which eliminates the need for an antenna, satellite radio hardware, or a computer. Subscribers control the radio with the Sonos Controller in up to 32 rooms, according to the companies.
The Sonos Digital Music System is a comprehensive wireless, multi-room offering that lets customers play digital music all over the house and manipulate it from one controller. The service provides access to online music services, Internet radio and digital music collections. The company also has similar deals with Audible.com, MTV Networks’ URGE, Napster, Pandora and Rhapsody.
