Reports: Demand Media Raises $100 Million

9/26/07 – Various sources are reporting that Demand Media, the Santa Monica-based social media and domain holding company, has raised a whopping $100 million in series C funding led by Goldman Sachs.

This funding round brings Demand Media’s total funding to around $320 million.  Demand Media was founded in May 2006 by former MySpace.com chairman Richard Rosenblatt.  Demand and its fully-owned subsidiary eNom recently released its ME.tv domain and online video product.

The company also owns a number of web content properties, including Answerbag.com and eHow.
