Revver Hits One Million Dollar Milestone

9/13/07 – Los Angeles-based online video web site Revver, one of the first video sharing services that included advertising for content creators and sharers, has  announced that it has paid out more than a million dollars in advertising revenue.

Revver says most video creators use the site as an outlet to support their work or to bring in extra money.  The company matches every video uploaded, whether professional or amateur, with an advertisement, then splits the ad revenue 50/50 with the video’s creator and shares twenty percent off the top with the video’s distributor.

The company launched the “1.0” version of its site in September, 2006 and says that by screening submissions and not accepting copyright-infringing content, Revver has been able to create a performance-based advertising system and an open and effective marketplace for online video.

Revver was founded in 2004.
