Twistbox CEO Ian Aaron says the funds will be used to drive the launch of new products and for expansion of its direct-to-consumer marketing efforts.

The company also announced that Graeme Ferguson has joined its board of directors.  Ferguson is a mobile industry veteran who formerly headed up programming for Vodafone Global.

Twistbox says it has distribution agreements with more than 100 mobile operators in 40 countries, and provides its entertainment to more than 1.1 billion subscribers worldwide through games, WAP sites and mobile TV channels.  The company was formed last year by the combination of WAAT Media and Charismatix, and raised $12.75 million in funding at that time, led by Spark Capital.
