9/11/07 – The XPRIZE Foundation, based in Santa Monica, will announce a new innovation competition this week that it says will include the largest international prize ever offered.  The Foundation is probably best known for its $10 million Ansari X PRIZE which resulted in the world’s first private vehicle to fly into space twice within two weeks.  XPRIZE creates and manages prizes focused on using technology to solve challenges in areas like space, travel and genomics.
