Xirrus Deploys Wi-Fi at Amelia Island Resort

9/5/07 – Westlake Village-based Xirrus continues to broaden its range of wi-fi network deployments, this time at the Amelia Island Plantation Resort in Florida.  Xirrus, which has recently deployed its Wi-Fi Array networks at a spate of school sites, says its latest network will allow the resort to offer high-performance wireless connectivity to guests and hotel staff throughout the property’s conference facility, spa and cafe areas.

Amelia Island Plantation is a AAA-Four Diamond resort located on Amelia Island, Florida, 29 miles north of Jacksonville International Airport.

Earlier this month, the company made news by deploying a wi-fi network in a temporary school facility in tornado-ravaged Greensburg, Kansas.  Xirrus was founded in 2004 and is backed by investors that include U.S. Venture Partners and August Capital.
