Xirrus Selected for Wi-Fi Deployment in Geneva

9/12/07 – Westlake Village-based Xirrus, the provider of high-performance, long-range wi-fi products, added to its steady stream of wi-fi network deployment announcements yesterday.  This time the company says that the International Telecommunication Union has purchased Xirrus Wi-Fi Arrays, Management System and Security Modules for deployment throughout the International Conference Centre Geneva to support a worldwide conference expected to attract more than 2,000 participants next month.

Xirrus says the network was designed by Wireless LAN Source, Xirrus’ European reseller partner.  Preparation and installation of the network is currently being carried out in preparation for the conference, according to Xirrus.

The company was founded in 2004 and is backed by U.S. Venture Partners and August Capital.
