Demand Media Launches User Ad Program on ChannelME.TV
10/31/07 – Demand Media, the Santa Monica-based social media and domain holding company, has debuted a user advertising program for its .TV domain and social networking service.
.TV “channels” are social networking tools offered to registrants of .TV domains. Registrants of these domains who activate their channels will now be able to use Demand Media’s advertising network, with ads showing up on their channels that generate revenue for the user of .TV channels.
Demand Media was founded in May 2006 by former MySpace.com chairman Richard Rosenblatt. Demand and its fully-owned subsidiary, eNom, recently released the .TV channels service as a combined domain, online video and social networking product.
The company also owns a number of other web content properties, including Answerbag.com and eHow.
