FastSoft Chosen to Accelerate Data Transfer for Sports Technology Provider

10/11/07 – Monrovia-based FastSoft, developer of Internet data transfer acceleration products, has announced that XOS Technologies, a technology provider for collegiate and professional sports teams, has selected the FastSoft Aria Internet acceleration device for its online service.  Specifically, the companies say Aria will be a component of XOS Coaching solutions, which makes the acquisition, management and distribution of digital video to coaches of sports teams more efficient.

XOS says its customers include 26 National Hockey League teams and 28 National Basketball Association teams.

The value proposition of FastSoft’s Aria product line is a decrease in the file transfer wait time for clients, employees, partners and suppliers with a single-box tool that does not require any hardware or software on the receiving end.  The company is addressing the problem of transfer of large files being hindered by TCP, the protocol that governs more than 90 percent of Internet traffic, according to FastSoft.

FastSoft was spawned out of Caltech’s Office of Technology Transfer, where its “FastTCP” technology was developed.  For the past four years, FastTCP was used to break the world record for the fastest sustained data transfer rates at the Supercomputing Network Bandwidth Challenge.  Aria utilizes the FastTCP technology to speed up Internet connections.

FastSoft’s series A financing came from Miramar Venture Partners.
