LeadPoint Launches Education Leads Service

10/10/07 – Los Angeles-based LeadPoint, an online leads exchange marketplace, has launched an education leads service that it says allows online and campus-based educational institutions to purchase leads submitted by students that have the highest likelihood of matching each school’s target student profile.

LeadPoint says the offering gives schools the ability to bid on real time higher education leads based on both the subject and the profile of the prospective student. Schools are able to target based on the prospect’s profile and their educational interests, employing filters such as school type, campus location, and highest level of education completed.  They can then bid based on the true market value of each prospective student, according to the company.

LeadPoint says that after the leads are traded, potential students will be contacted by the schools to discuss the best education options available to them.

In addition to this new offering, the company operates numerous lead generation verticals including consumer lending, consumer credit and business services.  LeadPoint claims that more than 2.4 million leads have been traded though its service to date.  It recently launched a voice-based leads exchange for the credit card debt industry.

LeadPoint was founded in 2004.  Its investors include Redpoint Ventures and European Founders Fund.
