Mobile Star Honors Xirrus

10/16/07 – Westlake Village-based Xirrus, the provider of high-performance, long-range wi-fi products, has received a “Gold Star, Silver Star and Bright Star Mobile Star” award from MobileVillage, a market development and news service about mobile technology.

MobileVillage says the annual Mobile Star Awards aim to honor and promote the best companies, products, deployments and leaders in mobile and wireless technology. Winners are chosen by subscribers to Go Mobile, MobileVillage’s online newsletter, according to the publication.

Xirrus has had a steady stream of major deployments of its Wi-Fi Array wireless access product this year.  The company was founded in 2004 by former Xircom executives and is backed by U.S. Venture Partners and August Capital.
