Spot Runner Wins Second Consecutive Web Award for ‘Best Advertising Website’
Tweet10/11/07 – Los Angeles-based Spot Runner, the Internet-based TV ad agency, has won the Web Marketing Association’s annual WebAward for “Best Advertising Website.” Spot Runner is the only company to have received the award for two consecutive years. The distinction is the top honor in the WebAwards’ Advertising category, given to only one company a year. This year, there were 28 other finalists in the category.
The WebAwards competition names the best websites in 96 industries, and this year had over 2,400 entries from 40 countries.
Spot Runner was the first company to offer a marketplace for the purchase of television ad time online. The company also offers tools for commercial production and media planning, and provides hyper-localized and targeted media plans. Through the deal with Stuller, retailers can use Spot Runner to promote their stores on popular broadcast and cable networks, such as CBS, HGTV and Bravo for as little as $1,500.
The company has garnered numerous awards since its founding in 2004, including the 2007 American Business Awards “Stevie” for “Most Innovative Company” and AlwaysOn’s “AO Media 100” award as one of the hundred most innovative and successful private firms in 2007.
Spot Runner is backed by investors that include Battery Ventures, Index Ventures, Allen & Company and Tudor Investments.
