Technology Council of Southern California Names RightScale ‘Best of Show’ at VentureNet 2007
10/25/07 – The Technology Council of Southern California has announced that Santa Barbara-based RightScale was voted “Best of Show” at the VentureNet 2007 conference, held earlier this month. RightScale was selected from 13 startup and early-stage tech companies that presented at the event. The award was chosen by a select group of investors who reviewed the companies against five specific criteria, according to the Technology Council.
The 13 companies that presented were a diverse group from throughout Southern California, from Santa Barbara to San Diego.
The VentureNet show was held at The Westin South Coast Plaza Hotel in Costa Mesa. Organizers say it was sold-out, with more than 425 venture capitalists, corporate and individual investors, and industry executives in attendance. Scott Painter, founder and CEO of online automotive retailer Zag, gave the event’s keynote presentation.
