Vuguru Signs International Distribution Deals for Online Series
Tweet10/8/07 – Beverly Hills-based The Tornante Company’s new media studio Vuguru today announced that it has signed two international distribution agreements for its Prom Queen and Prom Queen: Summer Heat series. The studio says the first, with French company Cyber-Group Animation, is for distribution of both series dubbed in French for wireless mobile, broadband, TV and home video. The second, according to the company, is a deal with Japan-based Rights Entertainment to produce a localized version of Prom Queen and its sequel in Japanese.
Vuguru claims this is the first time distribution rights to a fully-scripted and produced short form online video product have been sold and reformatted for foreign audiences outside the U.S. The company says it expects Prom Queen and Prom Queen: Summer Heat to be available for Japanese and French audiences sometime next year.
Vuguru also has distribution deals in place for Prom Queen with Bebo, MySpace, YouTube, Veoh, Verizon Wireless V CAST Video, Imeem and Revver.
In addition to Vuguru, Tornante holds ownership stakes in Veoh and Team Baby Entertainment.
