Metabeam Debuts SimpleROM.com Service
Tweet11/7/07 – Manhattan Beach-based Metabeam, developer of home entertainment technologies for movie studios, digital content creators and digital artists, has debuted a new service that allows producers to unite their DVD content with online content. Called SimpleROM.com, the company says it provides a natural pathway for viewers to connect to more content.
The service is pay-as-you-go or subscription-based. It allows uploading of standard web content for processing, then facilitates the download of a simple ROM image to add to a DVD or CD project that will cause the media to behave as a “conduit” to additional content, Metabeam says. When a user launches a disc enhanced by SimpleROM .com in a Windows computer, according to the company, the disc’s main feature will begin playing in the user’s default media player software, and simultaneously their default web browser will showcase the embedded link in another window.
Metabeam was founded in 2005 and also has an office in Seattle.
