Revver Debuts Latest Version of Video Sharing Web Site
Tweet11/6/07 – Los Angeles-based online video web site Revver, one of the first video sharing services to include advertising for content creators and sharers, has launched Revver.com 2.0. The latest version of the web site incorporates a more intuitive user interface with new community tools, along with additional opportunities for advertisers, according to Revver.
The company says Revver.com 2.0 offers improved search functionality that organizes its library of video content into navigable categories that allow viewers to locate videos, and allow advertisers to align with distinct content categories. Revver says that additionally, a new widgets feature provides easy access to all videos, enabling users to scroll through content in each collection on the homepage such as “Editor’s Picks.” The new version also includes social networking features like a “Video Response” function that allows users to post a video in response to a particular video, the company says.
Revver recently passed the $1 million mark in ad revenue generated by content producers on the site. The company launched the “1.0” version of its site in September, 2006 and says that by screening submissions and not accepting copyright-infringing content, it has been able to create a performance-based advertising system and an open and effective marketplace for online video.
