Studio 4 Networks Announces Video-On-Demand Usage Increase
Tweet12/7/07 – Los Angeles-based Studio 4 Networks, which produces lifestyle and educational programming delivered on-demand over cable TV, satellite and the Internet, today reported a 37 percent increase in usage per available household of its television-based video-on-demand programming during Q3. The company says that the adoption increase was for its existing cable distribution systems, and did not include on-demand cable homes available through a new distribution agreement that just commenced through Charter Communications.
Studio 4 Networks says this growth confirms momentum in consumer adoption of its titles from its three on-demand networks focused on families, fitness and education. The announcement follows closely on the heels of the company agreeing to be acquired by Canadian media company Knightscove Media Corporation for an estimated $7 million in cash and stock. The companies have not said when the deal will close.
Studio 4 was founded in 2002 by CEO Ed Stansfield, a former executive at Disney.
