Oversee.net Acquires Second Domain Services Company
Tweet1/4/08 – Oversee.net, the Downtown Los Angeles-based online media company that runs domain and online marketing services businesses, has acquired Moniker, a provider of domain name registration, domain asset management and monetization services.
More specifically, Pompano Beach, Florida-based Moniker offers products and services beyond basic registration, including name creation, acquisition, portfolio management, theft protection, appraisal and escrow services, traffic monetization, live and online domain auctions and aftermarket sales.
Oversee says that Moniker’s operations will continue to be led by Monte Cahn, the company’s president. It says Cahn has agreed to a multi-year commitment with Oversee by continuing to run Moniker, in addition to other senior executive responsibilities within Oversee.
This acquisition is the second in the domain services business by Oversee. The first came last June when the firm bought SnapNames. Oversee now says it will leverage the strengths of the two divisions by adding Moniker’s live auction and back-office services to SnapNames Live to offer the industry’s most comprehensive live and silent auction services.
Oversee.net was founded in 2000 and now counts more than 200 employees working out of its downtown L.A. headquarters and offices in Portland, Oregon, and San Mateo, Calif. It was named last year to the Inc. 500 and the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 in the Los Angeles region.
