Placely Launches TripKit Travel and Social Networking Service
Tweet1/16/08 – Los Angeles-based Placely, a new online travel networking startup that enables travelers to share information and to stay connected while traveling, announced today that it has launched a new free feature. Called the TripKit, the company says it allows users to enter a travel itinerary and immediately receive relevant data to make the travel experience more informative and pleasurable.
Placely says that TripKit aggregates relevant information for the traveler’s destination, all on one page. Information includes interactive maps, weather forecast and top restaurant choices, according to the company. Additionally, TripKit users have access to networking data allowing them to share travel tips and effortlessly meet up with people in their network while on-the-go.
The company was founded by entrepreneurs Denis Khoo, former CTO of Market Wire, and Rishi Jain.
