USENIX Selects Xirrus as Wi-Fi Provider for Events
Tweet1/17/08 – Xirrus, the Westlake Village-based provider of high-performance, long-range wi-fi products, has been chosen to provide wi-fi connectivity for USENIX—the Advanced Computing Systems Association—conferences and symposiums. The group says these events are meeting grounds for the presentation, discussion and application of technical advances in all aspects of computing systems, covering topics such as network design and implementation, systems administration, network security and electronic voting.
Xirrus has experience with wi-fi deployments at trade shows and conferences, with successful deployments at the last three Interop shows. The company says it is now focusing on providing wi-fi for regionally-based gatherings rather than larger events, in addition to the company’s permanent deployments of its Wi-Fi Arrays at locations like corporate campuses, schools and public areas.
Xirrus was founded in 2004 by former Xircom executives and is backed by U.S. Venture Partners and August Capital.
