Funding and Acquisitions Roundup: DailyLook gets a close look from investors and $2.5M for its commerce site and proprietary fashion label

Commerce

Los Angeles-based fashion site DailyLook has raised $2.5 million in Seed funding. The startup sells items from various brands but has also started its own featured label. Investors in the round include GRP Partners, RRE, SV Angel, Novel TMT Ventures, Matt Coffin, Thomas Mclnerney, and Rachel Zoe. The company was founded in 2011. More on the funding, via TechCrunch.

Open source payments company OpenCoin has acquired SimpleHoney, an early-stage startup that launched in May, 2012, and has built a wish list app called I Want Wish List. The company raised Seed funding from Angels that include Tim Young (Socialcast and about.me), Jameson Hsu and Bob Ippolito (Mochi Media), Ryan Scott (Causecast and NetCreations), Ed Roman (The Middleware Company), Dave McClure (500 Startups) and its own founders, Joyce Kim and Eric Nakagawa, according to CrunchBase. Mobile

Salt Lake City’s MokiMobility has landed $2 million in Seed funding for its cloud-based mobile device management platform. The round was led by Epic Ventures, and includes individual investors Spencer Tall (Allegis Capital) and Tyler Smith (Fusion-IO). The startup is focused on tablets that are used in retail, restaurants, hotels, education, fleet management, etc. Here’s the MokiMobility company blog post with more on the deal.

Dublin-based in-app messaging startup Converser has announced the closing of a $1.2 million Seed funding round. The announcement coincides of the opening up of the company’s platform to mobile developers today. Investors in the Seed round include Lough Shore Investments, Enterprise Equity and Enterprise Ireland. Converser is an in-app CRM solution that, at its heart, provides a channel for two-way communication with mobile app users. The company was founded in the summer of 2011.
