Sproutling, creator of a wearable device for babies that monitors their sleeping habits and vitals, has announced the closing of a $2.6 million Seed funding round. Investors include First Round Capital, Forerunner Ventures, FirstMark Capital, Accelerator Ventures, Lemnos Labs, BoxGroup and Shawn Fanning. The startup has not launched publicly, but according to reports, the company’s flagship product includes a small, wearable Bluetooth-enabled monitor that measures things like breathing, heart rate, and body temperature. It also reportedly includes a base-station, small camera and an app that allows parents to monitor the baby from a mobile device. Sproutling, part of the Lemnos Labs class of 2013, was founded in 2012 and is based in San Francisco.
